World Arts & Multi-Culture Inc. (WAMCI) has been promoting multicultural arts in Brisbane since 2003. This book reviews the evolution of WAMCI’s Harmony Day celebrations and the Brisbane International Arts Festival from 2014 to 2020, highlighting diverse performances, exhibitions, and community involvement. Organised into eight chapters, it features stories and insights from artists, organisers, and supporters, offering a unique perspective on the development of Brisbane’s multicultural arts scene.

This is the fifth publication of the series Sunnybank WAMCI Arts Collection, featuring renowned Taiwanese ink painting artist Mrs Li-Chueh CHEN. We very much appreciate people who supported this project, and therefore invited them to contribute an article or message in this book to share their thoughts about the publication. On 22 September 2012, under the witness of a Guinness World Records official in the UK, 1,651 people gathered under the bright sun to perform “Drumming Up Joy” together. The event was a spectacular display of unity and energy, successfully setting a new Guinness World Record. Special thanks go to the government bodies for their guidance, the Queensland Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce for their support, and to the overseas community, students, volunteers, and participants from all backgrounds. In multicultural Australia, we worked together to create a brilliant and colourful cultural milestone.
