The 2021 Taiwan Culture Festival brought a vibrant celebration of Taiwanese heritage and arts to Queensland, showcasing the richness of Taiwan’s traditions and creativity. Hosted by World Arts & Multi-Culture Inc., the festival featured a variety of activities throughout February.
The festivities began with Lunar New Year Festival Celebrations at Sunnybank Plaza from the 10th to the 14th of February, giving locals and visitors the chance to experience authentic Taiwanese customs and enjoy a festive atmosphere. The Taiwanese Australian Culture Forum was held online on 6 February, providing an opportunity for cultural exchange and discussion.
The Lantern Painting Competition Award Ceremony took place at Sunnybank Plaza on 27 February, recognising artistic talent and celebrating the colourful spirit of the New Year. The Taiwan Imagery Exhibition opened on 20 February at the Queensland Taiwan Centre in Sunnybank, running until 10 April. This exhibition invited guests to explore the beauty and diversity of Taiwan through art.
The 2021 Taiwan Culture Festival was a wonderful opportunity for Australians to connect with Taiwan’s culture, join in the New Year celebrations, and appreciate the richness of Taiwanese art and community.
